Which Mac do I have?
Click the Apple menu in the top-left corner of your screen, then click About This Mac.
- If it says Chip: Apple M… (for example M1, M2 or M3), you have an Apple chip.
- If it says Processor: Intel…, you have an Intel chip.

Open the download
Open the file you downloaded. It is in your Downloads folder. It unzips into Sidedoor.

Move it to Applications
Drag Sidedoor into your Applications folder.

Open Sidedoor
Open Sidedoor from Applications or Launchpad.
If your Mac asks "Are you sure you want to open it?", click Open. Sidedoor is verified by Apple.

Finish setup
Sidedoor's setup opens in your web browser and walks you through the rest. It takes about 15 minutes.
Have your license key ready. It is in your welcome email.
Something not working?
"It says it can't be opened."
Move Sidedoor into your Applications folder first. Then right-click it (or hold Control and click) and choose Open.
"Nothing happens when I open it."
Sidedoor may already be running. Look for its icon in the menu bar at the top of your screen, or in the Dock.
"I have a Windows computer."
